Answer: If you’re a Muslim, you have probably heard that Christians believe in three gods. That idea is as blasphemous to them as it sounds to you.
There is one God!
Christians agree with a Muslim’s belief in one God. In our Holy Book (which the Qur’an commends in Surah 4:136), God commands, "You shall have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3).
Did Isa/Jesus uphold monotheism? When asked for the greatest command, Jesus responded, “. . . The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:29-30).
The one God exists as three Persons.
The Bible teaches that God is one in essence, three in Person: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is fully God. God is not three gods but three in one. This is not a mathematical contradiction. Although humans cannot completely grasp the paradox of the tri-unity of God, we trust His revelation is true. Christians do not believe in three gods. Our one God manifests Himself in three Persons.
Is Jesus God’s Son?
The same Jesus who praised God’s oneness testified with His perfect life, miracles, and own mouth that He was God’s Son in the flesh (Matthew 9:6; John 8:46, 58). Jesus said, “I and the Father [God] are one" (John 10:30). We cannot both praise Jesus’ teaching and refute His deity because He claimed to be from and of God. Therefore, Jesus is either God’s Son or a blasphemer.
Does Jesus’ testimony anger you? It angered the religious leaders of His time. Because Jesus claimed to be God’s Son (symbolizing His relationship to God), they plotted to kill Him. “. . . Again the high priest asked him, ‘Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?’ And Jesus said, ‘I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.’ And the high priest tore his garments and said, ‘What further witnesses do we need? You have heard his blasphemy. What is your decision?’ And they all condemned him as deserving death” (Mark 14:61-64).
What is your decision?
Your beliefs cannot change the truth. Is Jesus God’s Son? If not, He did deserve death. If human, His bones would be resting behind a boulder in a garden tomb. But they are not. By the resurrection, Jesus proved Himself divine. If He is God’s Son, why did He die? He didn’t deserve death. His faultless life matched His testimony of deity. Jesus kept the greatest command to love God.
Have you? Unlike Jesus, none of us could love God supremely. Even breaking a small command (such as lying, hating, or coveting) disqualifies us from heaven: “For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10). We deserve death – eternal separation from God in hell.
But take hope; the Lord Jesus took the punishment for sin on Himself when He died on the cross. “[God] made [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). After dying on the cross, Jesus rose from the dead, proving His deity and the effectiveness of His sacrifice for sin.
The living Jesus Christ can pay for your sin, providing the way to paradise. When Jesus was promising to prepare a place in heaven for His followers, one asked Him for the way there. “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me’” (John 14:6).
Trust Christ’s death on the cross and resurrection from the grave to save you from the penalty and power of sin. He is the Way, Truth, and Life!

Greetings Ionela
The very fact that Jesus stated that the greatest commandment was,
“. . . The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”
(Mark 12:29-30).
Should inform you that he was not a trinitarian!
Note the scribe's response:
(Mark 12:32) And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
It should be obvious then that neither Jesus nor the scribe were trinitarian.
No Jew of Biblical times were.
They had never heard of such a thing!
Because the verse that Jesus quoted in Mark 12:29-30 is what the Jews call The Shema
It means "Hear" or rather "Listen".
Listen to what? To the fact that
The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
YAHWEH our God, YAHWEH is One!
It is taken from Deut 6.4.
It is repeated daily by Jews; and this verse simply has no room for a so-called trinity, a God who exists as three Persons.
Jews of Biblical time knew no such thing.
Jesus never taught it, nor did his disciples.
Jesus claimed to be the Messiah,
the Son of the ONE GOD;
Jesus identified his Father
as the only true GOD.
[John 17.3]
So to Christ, his disciples & the early church;
there is solely ONE GOD,
the Father.
(1 Cor 8:4) ... that there is none other God but one.
(1 Cor 8:6) But to us there is but one God, the Father, ...
We should follow their example!!
Ionela, the trinity is a foreign concept added to Christianity hundreds of years after Christ; it should be abandoned since Christ taught no such thing.
Therefore, I beseech you to view the video at:
The Human Jesus
Take a couple of hours to watch it; and prayerfully it will aid you to reconsider "The Trinity"

the Father is God, and the Son God, and the Holy Ghost God, and that these three Gods make one God.
Thank you for ur comment. All the best!
